This little town clings precariously to the steep hill above its harbour, it has managed to retain some of the charm and character of the Ottoman Greek fishing village it once was. This makes an excellent base for exploring the sights of the western Lycia . Narrow streets twist down to the harbour through the historic town with small local specialty shops and restaurants. Good dining has always been the way of life in Kalkan.
