Patara is a place to spend a relaxing holiday the 18 kilometres of beach are very inviting, especially after a hard day climbing around the ruins. Patara is famous on two accounts: as the birth-place of St. Nicholas who has entered into christian traditions as Father Christmas and for having a fabulous beach. The ruins of course, numerous and interesting but Patara is natural place for beach lovers. There are some restaurants back from the site and a couple of cafes down on the beach. A holiday in Patara would suit couples or families in search of a beach holiday with historic charm and unspoilt Turkish character.
